We’ve come a long way since 2020.

And we will hold Escape New York 2021 - in a pandemic-sensitive manner.

NYCC is preparing event safety guidelines for our Escape New York participants, volunteers and staff.

The recommendations and protocol are fluid and changing, based upon current guidelines set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), US Cycling, and other Federal, state and local government agencies. Participants must proceed with the understanding that there is no way to eliminate all risk of infection and as a result, NYCC strongly encourages all participants to follow the recommendations we may publish over time as safety precautions - not intended or implied to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment

In the days leading up to the event participants may be required to confirm that they have not displayed any symptoms. Under a qualified supervisor, event staff, participants and supporters will undergo temperature screening using ‘no-touch’ thermometers. Anyone displaying a temperature over 100.4 F (38.0 C) will be taken to a private area for a secondary temperature screening. Anyone confirmed to have a temperature will be denied entry and directed to appropriate medical care.

NYCC reserves the right to restructure the event format to improve safety or due to potential Governmental or other requirements as a result of evolving COVID-19 information and trends. For example, the time of the start, groupings at the start, location of the start, or route may be adjusted to meet safety objectives.
